The Process
For Tastemaker, their goal was to use this collection of videos to secure future sponsorship and continue producing cuisine-based festivals in different cities around the world. Documenting live events doesn’t come without challenges. One of the most critical was finding a balance between being a “fly on the wall” and getting the desired shots. After all, we wanted to feature authentic interactions between diners and the dishes. Working in cramped kitchens and busy dining rooms made this challenge difficult to overcome.
A secondary challenge was navigating the personalities of the many chefs we featured. Most loved the camera, but one rather eccentric chef kicked us out of the kitchen and saw us as a burden.
